History

St. Michael's / Birdsboro Cemetery located in Birdsboro Pennsylvania (Berks County) is a historical burial site founded in the 19th century to serve as the final resting place for many of the local community and surrounding areas. Strolling through the beautifully maintained grounds provides a glimpse of the history of Birdsboro while paying tribute to the loved ones interred here.

Notable People

Accomplished actor Forrest Compton best known for his role in Gomer Pyle as Col. Edward Gray and his long running appearance on the soap opera The Edge of Night and many other roles, a local Berks County native rests within the gates of our beautiful cemetery.

Cemetery Rules
& Guidelines

These guidelines help us maintain a peaceful, dignified environment for all visitors and ensure the beauty of the grounds for generations to come.

Visiting Hours & Conduct

Grounds open daily from dawn to dusk
Visitors are asked to maintain a respectful, quiet demeanor
Children must be supervised at all times
Pets must be leashed and waste must be removed
Vehicles must remain on roadways; speed limit 10 mph
Bicycles, skateboards, and recreational activities are not permitted

Decorations & Flowers

Fresh flowers are welcome year-round
Artificial flowers permitted November 1 – March 31 only
Glass containers are not permitted
Decorations must be placed within 12" of the headstone
Holiday decorations will be removed 2 weeks after the holiday
Faded or deteriorated items may be removed by staff

Monuments & Markers

Cemetery Office approval required before order or installation
Must meet section size, style, and placement specifications
Orders coordinated through Cemetery Office
Foundations installed by cemetery staff
Installation under cemetery supervision
Cleaning is family responsibility unless service arranged

Seasonal & Special Notes

Winter burials may require additional fees for ground preparation
Some roads may be inaccessible during snow/ice conditions
Spring cleanup occurs in early April; temporary decorations should be removed
Planting of flowers or shrubs at gravesites requires approval
Photography for commercial purposes requires written permission
